I've started this blog to keep a journal and pictures of my gardens journey. I love to garden and recently have taken up photography. I am by no means a horticulture smartypants and take a casual approach to gardening. Most of my pictures are taken in my garden as I tend to be a homebody. Thanks for stopping by! Sweet. What is it? The bloom looks like a Clematis, but the bronze foliage looks like something else.
Yes this is a clematis. I have it growing in a japanese maple.
These ‘last blooms’ have a special feel about them as though there is that one last, visible effort before surrendering to the cold to come. Your pic conveys that rather well.
Your ability to "see" an interesting subject is just amazing! I love the curve in the stem, it is a simple thing but I feel like it MAKES the photo!

My clematis rebloomed this year too, even one of the new ones I planted. What a nice bonus those extra blooms are :)
