I really like this colour combination. I love carex - but my garden is clay-based and they really seem to like good drainage. What is your experience?
My garden is also clay based. I really build my beds up when I put them in. Lots of peat, manure, sand and fish compost. Plus yards and yards of good topsoil.(We don't have backyard access so was all done by wheelbarrow!) I then rototilled it all. Some would say I went a little over the top but I move my plants around alot so I wanted good soil everywhere.
Anyways back to the carex...They(or some,) like alot of moisture and they seem to do well in my wet spots. This variety and my carex'Ice Dance'loves wet soil. You should be okay with these ones.
Oh, really? I'll have to try Carex again then. I thought they liked good drainage and dry conditions, because I had a number of cultivars in my old garden and those were the conditions they lived under.
