Spring in February?
The cherry trees are blooming in Victoria apparently ten days earlier than last year. While last year they were two weeks early.
At work I am shocked to find oriental lillies up about four inches, day lillies and irises up six. Hellebores, snowdrops and crocus are blooming away. There are big fat buds on the decidous azaleas and some hydrangeas are leafing out. Crazy! I have way too many things to do in the garden before spring arrives. Feb/March is when I cut back all the ferns. This is a huge job as the property is about five acres in a woodland setting. Then I have to mulch all the gardens. Spring in February just won't do. Mind you the sun has finally started to shine and we are in for five days straight. That's a first in a long time!

Lovely snowdrop! It seems like everything is starting to bloom at once there -- cherry blossoms at the same time as snow drops? Spring seems to be on an accelerated schedule, which as you say, is going to put you on a similar schedule too. So much for the long winter nap... :-)
My kids found the first lady bug of the year today--crazy for winter in Utah.
We almost had snow the other day down under. The day after that it was 26degrees. What is with this weather.
It's crazy isn't it. When I was little we used to get huge dumps of snow. Now we hardly ever get any.
Such a pretty snowdrop. That is a lot of garden work you are reporting! I wonder if your 'spring' will keep coming forward or you will get a cold snap the way we have? It must be nice to see everything blooming, though!
It's very spooky to have such crazy weather patterns, isn't it? I heard the other day it's been on average 20 degrees warmer than usual here, and even some of our trees are beginning to bud -- unheard of in February!
I heard the other day if we don't get serious about global warming in the next ten years it will be too late.
I envy you for your early spring Sandy, wish we'd had that here, but it's still freezing here at night.
Go all and tell that Mr. Bush about the global warming. I still can't believe that he (well the USA) hasn't signed the Kyoto protocoll. This makes me so angry grrrrrrrrr
