Welcome to my garden
Well this is my first blog and my first entry. I have to admit that I'm having a bit of a hard time figuring it out.
I thought I would use this as a garden journal. My garden is 3 years old now and starting to feel like a real garden now. Spring has come with my rhodo's blooming beautifully. Last year they hardly had any blooms at all. I have no idea why. I have to say my favorite is my Loderi King George. Stunning to say the least! I had to do a major up prune on it and several others this year. A bit drastic but I'm sure they will be happier with better air circulation.
I moved a few things around today ( in a major wind and rain storm.) I admit that I am a bit obsessed as far as gardening goes. Finally got around to planting my mothers day present. A gorgeous Acer palmatum Aureum. It looks lovely planted next to the Cotinus'Grace'. I noticed that the dahlias are popping up. I have never grown them before and was worried that I had let them dry out before I got around to planting them.
My snow queen clematis (pictured) is in full bloom scrambling up the Stewardia. Best year yet. Not impressed with the montana climbing in the hemlock. For the life of me I cannot remember the variety. Another reason for this journal. Maybe it will get me organized at keeping track of all the plants.
I'm looking forward to the peonies. I admit that I suffer from Peony Envy.
